If I could be anywhere in the world today, it would most certainly be in Cinque Terre, Italy.
Cinque Terre is a string of picturesque seaside villages on the Italian Riviera coastline. There are 5 towns that make up this coastline and they are all easily accessible by train or water taxi.
I recently visited Cinque Terre and absolutely fell in love with the colorful houses, vineyards on the steep terraces, and the harbors that allowed fisherman to bring the freshest seafood to the towns.
The first town in Cinque Terre is Monterosso and it is by far the busiest. The beach is which makes it the number one spot if you are looking to spend the day sunbathing. My recommendation would be to arrive early in Monterosso and pay the 20 Euros for an umbrella and beach chair. That way you can really relax during your time in this charming town.
The next stop on the coast is Corniglia. I didn’t find it to be anything that special after spending time in Vernanza, so we went straight to Manarola!
Manarola was a dream come true. I always wanted to see the colorful houses and picture perfect scenery. It did not disappoint. We walked around, visited the locals shops and of course ate some more gelato and pasta!
To end the day we watched the sunset and counted our blessings, it was truly a magical day!
