Same year, new me? I had the courage to do a major (well in my eyes) hair change and it feels so good! Let me take you through my thought process and reason for change.
You may know from my dark roots that I am naturally not a blonde and indeed a chocolate brunette kind of gal. My blonde journey started when I moved to Miami, almost 6 years ago. I went from balayage to egg yolk blonde and finally ashy blonde.
Let’s be honest;
keeping up with blonde hair is not easy nor is it cheap. But it is worth it! Personally I have never experienced hair damage or lack of hair growth due to having my hair highlighted and toned, and that’s actually one of the reasons I wanted to change. My hair grows so fast! For me to keep up with my two inch hair growth per month that would result in me doing my hair monthly, and quite frankly that is not in my budget.
Alternatively, I chose to space out and do my hair every 9-12 weeks, but as you can imagine it just wasn’t looking as fresh and ashy blonde as I loved. So my idea of honey blonde was born and thankfully for Instagram I found the perfect shade.
The process to change my hair color was so simple; it took me about 1.5 hours instead of 5 hours and it was a one step process. Hallelujah!
Here are some pictures of the final look. I absolutely loved it, it’s so fresh! My green eyes are popping even more and it just feels so nice to have something different especially for fall/winter.
